What is hottttt girrrrllll summmmmer? Is it taking Insta-filtered photos to convince myself and my followers that I’m living my best life? Is it dating in the Covid-era and hooking up with vaccinated people I match with? Is it feeling the need to have a house, multiple cars, and my life together, while still being able to afford to travel?

Is Hot Girl Summer pressuring us to be jet-setters even though only a minority of us can actually afford that lifestyle? And even if we can afford it, is that what we actually want or is that the image we are supposed to portray to people we don’t really know in order to keep up with the Joneses?

My definition of Hot Girl Summer is relaxing and enjoying myself, friends or family. I like not having the pressure to plan or take pics, and just allowing myself to be in the moment. Less can sometimes be more. I feel empowered to re-charge my batteries, let my hair down, and be free of worry so I can be fully ready for life. That is me living my best life all year round.
